Project Description

Luke – (approximately two years of age) a neutered, male, black and tan Doberman Pincher – ears, un-cut and tail, cut long.

Luke is an athletic Doberman Pincher with a heart of gold.  Luke has suffered some harsh abuse as a youngster (serious head trauma and a cigarette burn to the left hip, a poor diet and lack of proper veterinary care).

Luke has a mild case of PTSD and needs a calm, kind, alpha owner.  Luke should not be in a home with children or cats. Luke has a high prey instinct.  Luke should never be allowed on furniture or to be in an Alpha position above a human.  Luke responds well to a calm, kind, assertive owner.  Luke does not respond well to aggression or anger.  Luke will nip or growl out of fear when treated with aggression or given the Alpha Role.  Luke does best when he knows his owner is in charge and does not fear that harm.

Luke is three year old, neutered, male black and tan, pure bred,  Doberman Pincher – Ears UN-cut & tail cut a little long.

Luke comes from a very rough background.  He was owned by people who abused him physically, several times.  Luke was underfed, never saw a vet and was neglected terribly.  As a result, Luke has a bite history.  He has been in Foster Care with HOPE for over a year and has been receiving training to assist him to UN-learn behavior that he learned in order to protect himself.   The result has been very successful.  Luke has learned to be loved and return love.

Any person who should have an interest in adopting Luke should have the following:

A calm, kind Alpha demeanor.

The knowledge and acceptance of an animal that has been abused and neglected – and the acceptance that it is an ongoing process

No children younger than teenage years

Preferably, no cats (although, Luke has recently been introduced, successfully, to living with a cat)

Luke does well with all other, non-aggressive dogs.  Luke will do well with a canine companion

An understanding that movement excites Luke (moving  cars, moving bicycles, people running, squirrels, etc)

A fenced in yard

The ability to run free four-five times a week (land, dog park, etc.)  His exercise grounds him.

Please call for details – Luke is an exceptional animal who has exceeded expectations.  He just needs the PERFECT Home
